2019-2020 Glancaster Bombers (AMHL/GMHA) Hockey Coaching Applications:

The Glancaster Bombers are now accepting applications for rep coaching positions for the 2019-2020 season.

Applications must be submitted electronically by January 24th, 2019 to:

It is the Glancaster Bombers objective to operate Rep Programs for these divisions:

  • Minor Atom AA, A and/or AE
  • Major Atom AA, A and/or AE
  • Minor Peewee AA, A and/or AE
  • Major Peewee AA, A and/or AE
  • Minor Bantam AA, A and/or AE 
  • Major Bantam AA, A and/or AE  (depending on #’s)
  • Minor Midget AA,  A and/or AE (depending on #’s)
  • Major Midget AA,  A and/or AE  (depending on #’s)

AE at Minor and Major will depend on the tryout numbers and the number of qualified coach applicants. 

* The ability to ice an A or AE Rep team requires sufficient numbers and coach applicants at each age group.
Please refer to Section 5.1 of the AMHL Manual of Operations.

** If we can't ice an A or an AE team in an age group or if AE rosters are not full (including players and goalies) there will not be a Select hockey program for that age group or division.

All applicants must submit the following information by January 24th, 2019. Only applications with the required information will be considered.

a) Completed Glancaster Bombers Coaching Application that is emailed to [email protected]


b) Please attach any additional information  reflecting youhockey background as a coach, player, outline your coaching philosophy and your season plan for the team you are applying for. Identify your strengths, weaknesses and goals/objectives for the team you are applying for.

A Selection Committee, consisting of equal AMHL and GMHA board Directors and equal non-executive community members from Ancaster and Glanbrook, will review the applications and conduct interviews with the candidates. Rep Coach Selection Committee will decide if there is an offer to interview. Note: NOT all applicants will be offered an interview. If you have not been contacted by January 31, 2019 regarding an interview date, you will not be receiving an interview. This includes new & current coaches.

When rating candidates, the selection committee will consider a number of factors - previous coaching experience at the level, coaching certifications, performance in the interview, whether the candidate is a non-parent, length of time with existing team, suitability of parent/child placement, references and skill level rating of the coach’s child relative to other players if the child is trying out for the team.

The Selection Committee will then make a recommendation of the best candidates for each team. These recommendations will be discussed and ratified at the Board level (Both AMHL and GMHA). Applicants that the committee selects as the primary choice for a given team will be contacted by the committee after executive board approval and offered that team for the upcoming season. Upon the applicant’s acceptance of the team, non-successful applicants will be contacted immediately to notify them of the committees’ decision.
