The U16A Bombers team
overcame a challenging start in the round robin play, with two narrow 1-0
losses, but showed incredible resilience by defeating those same teams in the
elimination games
Throughout the tournament, they demonstrated their
strength, scoring a total of 7 goals while only allowing 3 against. Their
impressive performance led them to the semi-finals, where they secured a
decisive 5-1 victory against the St. Thomas Stars, earning them a spot in the
championship game. In a hard-fought match, the team emerged triumphant with a
2-0 win over the undefeated New Hamburg Huskies, showcasing their
determination, effort, and perseverance. Their outstanding display of skill and
teamwork resulted in them claiming the championship of the inaugural Glancaster
Bombers Veteran Memorial tournament.
The coaches expressed immense pride in
their players, commending their unwavering dedication and culminating in a
shutout win in the championship.
