Bombers Player Safety Initiative
The Glancaster Bombers Organization is excited to announce a player safety initiative to protect our players from serious injury in partnership with Mak's Source for Sports, and Daredevil Hockey! PLEASE READ BELOW
Recently the Glancaster Bombers organization and one of our players had a very serious close call during a practice. This young player fell into the boards and cut his thigh with his own skate blade, through his protective equipment. Although the outcome is a positive one the organization has taken the following steps to further protect our players.
Beginning November 14th through November 22nd, the Bombers have established a partnership with Daredevil and Mak's to outfit all players with cut resistant under garments. This protection would significantly reduce the risk for our players at an exceptionally low cost. The Details of this initiative are as follows:
Daredevil and Maks have agreed to significantly reduce the cost per item to 50% off. Daredevil has agreed to a one time bulk order through them to our entire organization.
In addition to this, should we complete an order of greater than 500 pieces, Daredevil will donate $5000 to the organization to further expand our player safety initiative!
The Glancaster Bombers have approved a one time subsidy of $20 per player to use towards the cost of this equipment that will be applied upon receipt of the order from Bombers Teams.
Furthermore, the Bombers are supplying all teams with Tourniquets for trainers kits as well as providing training and literature for their use.
The Bombers will further commit to have all trainers and trainers at large elevated to the Trainer Level 2 designation by providing emergency medical training.
We strongly encourage our Members to take advantage of this initiative and help us further reduce the risk to our players!
Maks Source for Sports has graciously agreed to assist with fittings in store or provide fitting kits to teams to borrow.
Coaches have all been made aware of this initiative and will be communicating with players regarding interest and fitting.
