Bombers Win Gold
This weekend the U16AA boys played in the Orangeville Fall Classic. Going into the tournament this weekend after a few tough losses the week before the team looked for some positives they turned things around in a hurry. An aggressive fore check, outstanding goaltending, and steady defense they ran the table and went undefeated. On Friday they beat Windsor 3-1 and tied Orangeville 1-1. Saturday the bombers played a very physical game against TNT Tornadoes which they won 3-1 to finish first in the division. In the semis saturday night the boys put in another strong performance with a 4-1 win against Windsor . Nathan Yates scored both the teams game winning goals on Saturday.
The finals was a rematch against Orangeville . It was an intense back and forth game where the teams exchanged goals in the 1st and 2nd period. It remained tie until halfway through the 3rd when Owen Wilkie scored on a beautiful pass from Colin Flaherty. Orangeville was relentless in tying it up but the boys hung on for a 2-1 victory.
Coach Mike ,Fred and Robin were very pleased with the performances put in by every player
