U15B Bombers - Great Start to Pre-Season
The U15B squad headed out to Windsor for their first tournament of the year and put out a solid effort to go 3-1 in their 4-game round robin.
Heading into a pre-season tournament without a single game played can be a daunting challenge, but the U15B players were definitely up to the challenge. They used the first game to work out some kinks and get familiar with rotating through a 17-skater roster and were still able to stay competitive with their first opponent, skating to a 5-3 loss. "We had a few posts, and one crossbar that could have made all the difference, unfortunately the bounces didn't go our way".
Learning from their first game, the Bombers then skated through their next three games winning each one, outscoring their opponents 20-7. They finished day-2 in a 3-way tie for 2nd place in their pool. Unfortunately, the tournament structure only let the top 2 teams through to Sunday, so based on a very narrow goals against margin, the Bombers went home.
"I'm not worried at all about the tournament outcome. We were focused on seeing what we could do with this new lineup of players, and we're excited to see what the rest of the season has in store." As an end note, 4 of the top 5 teams in the tournament were from the Niagara District... so this 2024-25 season is really going to be a showcase for the caliber of hockey coming out of this region. "I'm eager to get started and see how this all plays out".
