Earlier this season, the Glancaster U15B Bombers were able
to compete in the Silver Stick Regional Qualifier and came home winners! This gold medal finish allowed The Bombers an
opportunity to move on to the
International Championship Finals,
which took place over the January 9-11 weekend.
The players were able to battle through to the end and bring
home the first ever
Silver Stick International Championship Win for the Glancaster
Bombers organization. This weekend
proved to be one of the toughest battles for this U15B Bombers team yet; and
has solidified their position as a legit contender for the year.

Prior to heading out to this tournament, the coaching staff
warned the players that “this weekend would not be like other tournaments. Every single team will be tough; there will
be no easy wins… prepare as if you’re going to war and every game is a battle.” This warning held true; throughout the entire
tournament, including all games from all teams, there were only four games that
were not one-goal wins. Every single
game was tight, every single team worked hard, every single team competed to
win.
The Bombers finished the Round Robin in a 2-way tie for first
with a 3-1 record. They earned the first-place
finish based on the tournament period/points scoring system and were granted a
bye to the gold medal game. The East
Lambton Eagles made short work of the Kawartha Coyotes, beating them 4-0 in the
semi finals, setting up a Championship game between two highly ranked teams who’d
never faced each other.
The final game was a battle from start to finish. Solid goaltending in games 3 and 4 got Glancaster
here, and it was solid goaltending that kept this championship game close. The Glancaster Bombers and East Lambton Eagles
finished the 2nd period tied at 2, then came out for the third prepared
to go all-in for the win.
With 7:10 left in the game, the Bombers took a 3-2 lead and
were able to hold on as they shut down the Eagles offense for the win. Congratulations to all the players, staff and
parents for this huge Bombers win.
Looking forward to whatever comes next!
