Congrats to the U13BB team for bringing home some hardware from the outdoor tournament in Buffalo, NY!
Early in December 2023, the Glancaster Bombers U13BB team travelled across international borders to play in the Buffalo Outdoor tournament. The team fared quite well, going undefeated in Round Robin play, granting them a birth to the Gold Medal game.
The team overcame some challenges playing on the outdoor ice surface in Game 2 of the tournament. For their evening game, the ice was in choppy condition, and did not provide opportunity to play a clean passing game. Despite the conditions, the team was still able to pull off a win thanks to some hard work by all players.
In the final game of round robin play, the Bombers enjoyed a dominant game over their own Tri-County rivals, the Oakville Rangers, winning 6-3... and setting up what was to be a great gold medal game against that same team.
In the finals, Oakville jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but late in the 3rd our Bombers mounted a fantastic comeback attempt, scoring to close the gap to 3-2. Unfortunately, even though they held the shot, opportunity and puck control advantage, the Bombers were unable to score the tying goal, and skated to a 3-2 loss.
Congrats to Oakville on their Gold Medal win... looking forward to playing them again soon in the Brantford tournament.
